Establishment of the "Al Asfour Social Foundation"

The Minister of Labor and Social Development, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, issued a decision regarding licensing the registration of the Al Asfour Social Foundation, and withdrawing the decision that was published in the Official Gazette after reviewing the Law on Associations, Social and Cultural Clubs, and Private Bodies Working in the Field of Youth, Sports, and Private Institutions, issued by Decree Law No. (21). ) for the year 1989 and its amendments, and according to the Articles of Association of the Al Asfour Social Foundation (a private institution), it was approved to register the Al Asfour Social Foundation (a private institution) in the registry of private institutions under registration No. (1/m/kh/2018) according to what was stated in Article The first, with the establishment and contracting of both Dr. Majeed Muhsin Muhammad Al-Asfoor, Ali Abdul Karim Al-Asfoor, Ibrahim Ali Muhammad Al-Asfoor, Salman Ali Salman Al-Asfoor and Mansour Abdullah Al-Asfoor. It is noteworthy that the Foundation, within the limits of the laws in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is working to achieve a set of goals according to the capabilities of the Foundation and in coordination with the competent government agencies according to Article (8) of the Foundation’s Articles of Association, which is to provide material and in-kind assistance to needy families of members of the Asfour family and others . And extending bridges of cooperation and coordination and working to increase communication between all members of the Asfour family, and working to reconcile relations between the members of the Asfour family, in addition to developing the skills and competencies of the sons and daughters of the family by helping them to continue their studies, and seeking to employ them, in coordination with the competent government agencies.

According to Article (5) of the Basic Law, the institution may not engage in politics, nor may it engage in financial speculation. The institution must observe public order and morals, and commit in all its activities not to prejudice the safety of the state, the form of government, or its social system. Article (7) stipulates that the institution may not affiliate or join a body based outside Bahrain without prior permission from the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

This decision and the attached Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into effect from the day following the date of publication in accordance with Article Two.
