Bahraini Deaf hosts MP Sayed Falah Hashem

The Bahrain Deaf Society hosted His Excellency MP Falah Hashem on Sunday evening, April 25, 2021, as part of the activities of the forty-sixth Arab Deaf Week, which is held under the slogan of addressing unemployment among the deaf. It is one of the most important issues that require community support to enable deaf people to obtain suitable jobs to enable them to live a decent life. Based on the objectives of the Bahrain Deaf Society in supporting and upgrading the deaf in various fields of skill, culture and life, the meeting highlighted the legislation related to the deaf category and the need to add to it and enact new legislation in line with their needs, especially in the field of training, vocational rehabilitation and employment, and the provision of indicative translation in the field of Health care, higher education and various government services.


During the meeting, which was attended by a number of members of the association
Deaf people listen to them and learn about their needs and the challenges they face. The attendees expressed their appeal to pay special attention to the employment file because of its importance to achieving a decent life for the deaf.
At the end of the meeting, the attendees thanked His Excellency the Representative for his valuable presentation of the legislation related to the category of people with disabilities, his support and interest in the needs of the deaf category.
