The Supreme Council for Women holds a working meeting with the Bahrain Women Union.

Her Excellency Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, affirmed the keenness and interest of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, in activating cooperation mechanisms with civil society institutions concerned with women's affairs.

Emphasizing that the relationship between the Supreme Council for Women and the Bahraini Women's Union is complementary to serve Bahraini women.

 

This came during a meeting of the joint committee between the Supreme Council for Women and the Bahraini Women's Union, held at the Council's headquarters, in the presence of Ms. Ahlam Ahmed Rajab, President of the Bahrain Women Union.

During the meeting, the committee discussed areas of joint cooperation to activate the memorandum of understanding between the two parties, including raising awareness of the importance of implementing the principle of equal opportunities and gender balance, and cooperation in promoting the national model for integrating women's needs.Disseminating a culture that supports women, highlighting their efforts and achievements, and exchanging expertise in the areas of combating violence against women and providing family counseling services. In addition, we exchange statistics, information, expertise, studies, and research in areas of common interest, and cooperate in implementing awareness and training programs and disseminating knowledge about women's issues and family stability.

The meeting also reviewed the initiatives and programmes of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025-2026), and identified priorities for joint action between the two parties to implement these initiatives and programmes within the plan's four areas: family stability, decision-making, economic participation, and quality of life.

The meeting also touched on initiatives and projects implemented by the Bahraini Women's Union, including awareness programs targeting young people about to get married, and the Union's media projects. The meeting also discussed ways to cooperate in raising awareness, training, and promoting initiatives and programs implemented by the Supreme Council for Women, including the awards and initiatives the Council is working to implement.
