On Wednesday morning, October 8, 2025, at the Royal University for Women, an expanded meeting was held between the university administration and a delegation from the Bahrain Women's Union. During the meeting, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Union and the university. The agreement will include provisions for the university's academic staff to conduct workshops and educational lectures.
In addition to providing the necessary informational and scientific assistance to the Union and its affiliated women’s associations, through the Women’s Support Center located at the university.
The President of the Union gave a brief overview of the most important topics and issues adopted by the Union, and welcomed the proposal to sign the memorandum of understanding that the Royal University for Women proposed to conclude with the Union to enhance joint work and provide academic, training and educational support to the general civil society and the Bahraini Women’s Union in particular.
The meeting was attended on behalf of the university by His Excellency Professor Riyad Hamza, President of the University, Dr. Raed Al-Nimr, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Law, Dr. Samar Al-Barghouthi, Dr. Hadeel Al-Jal, and a number of academic officials from the university.
On behalf of the Union, the meeting was attended by Ms. Ahlam Rajab, President of the Union, Ms. Farida Darwish, Vice President, Ms. Rawaa Al-Sheikh, Financial Secretary, Ms. Badriya Al-Marzouq, Head of the Family Law and Marriage Contract Document Committee, and Ms. Iman Al-Asfour, Head of the Committee to Combat Domestic Violence.
