Fawzi Kanoo: The award is an encouragement to associations and activists in charitable and volunteer work

“Bahrain Charity” honors the winners of the Ahmed Kanoo Award for Excellence in Charitable Work


Under the generous patronage of Fawzi bin Ahmed Kanoo, the Bahrain Charitable Society held the closing ceremony of the Ahmed bin Ali Kanoo Award for Excellence in Charitable Work yesterday evening, Monday.
After the Royal Peace, student Muhammad Adnan Al-Omari began the ceremony with a fragrant recitation of the Holy Quran. In his speech, Mr. Fawzi Kanoo welcomed the attendees and said: “The award comes in memory of the father, may God Almighty have mercy on him, and to encourage associations and individuals active in the field of charitable and voluntary work to further innovate, innovate and develop.” He also praised the efforts of the organizing committee, the judging committees, and the participants, especially the male and female winners.

In a speech delivered by Dr. Hassan Ibrahim Kamal, head of the award’s organization, said: “We in the organizing committee have tried to make this beautiful ceremony coincide with the International Day of Charity, which the world celebrates on the fifth of September every year.” He added: “On this humanitarian occasion, we cannot help but advance Congratulations to our wise leadership, headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister, and to the people of Bahrain. He also praised in his speech the efforts of Mr. Fawzi. Kanu and the honorable Kanoo family in sponsoring charitable and humanitarian projects.

For his part, Dr. Khaled Jassim Boumati, Chairman of the Jury Committees, stated during his speech that the award relied on international arbitration methods, thanking the members of the Jury Committees, all those working in the competition, and the Chairman and members of the Organizing Committee.
After that, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, delivered a speech on behalf of the honorees, thanking the sponsor of the ceremony, Mr. Fawzi bin Ahmed Kanoo, and the Chairman and members of the organizing committee, praising the role of the honorable Kanoo family in supporting the process of charitable and humanitarian work in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Poet Nadia Al-Mallah, winner of first place in the Charity Poetry Branch, recited a poem on the occasion.

Then, a short film was shown covering the career of the late Ahmed bin Ali Kanoo, and another video on the topic of the competition, its branches and stages, summarizing its most important events leading up to the closing ceremony.
In the honoring and prize distribution segment, Mr. Fawzi Ahmed Kanoo, sponsor of the award, and Dr. Hassan Ibrahim Kamal, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, kindly presented souvenirs and honorary gifts as follows:
